CLEMONS ESSENTIAL MENTAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES

Avis Clemons is the founder of Clemons Essential Mental Health Care Services (CEMHC). She established CEMHC on September 12, 2012. She has been working in the field of social services, community support, mental health, and substance abuse for the past 25 plus years. Her target population has always been the elderly, veterans, homeless individuals, and those that challenge the epidemic of HIV/Aids, mental health, substance abuse and alcohol abuse.
Her passion for those less fortunate has always been her dream & desire to make a difference in at least one person’s life. She’s confident if asked there are many who can attest that she has made a difference in their lives on an ongoing basis. She is a constant advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
Her dedication and strong affinity to the importance of prevention and education on HIV/Aids (stigma, trauma, judgement, health), Homelessness/Housing, Mental Health, Substance Abuse Hunger, etc. gives her the strength to push through each day until her mission is completed.
Despite over the past 9 years we have been operating with personal funds & donations (food and clothing) from community partners & pro bono services from community professionals. We are able to continue to provide ongoing services such as: education, food, healthy meals at least 1-3’xs a week, clothing, temporary housing (hotels rooms) when funds are available, toiletries, household supplies, etc that’s needed to run a nonprofit.
